A 6-day week is counted as 7 hours Monday to Friday and 5 hours on Saturday — the usual split of the 40-hour week; the Labour Code leaves the exact schedule to the employer (art. 142).
The pre-holiday hour does not apply to part-time, reduced-hours and shift workers (art. 147).

Choose the work week (five or six days) and the first and last day of the period. The calculator leaves out weekends (only Sundays on a six-day week), the non-working public holidays and memorial days set by law, and days moved by Government decisions.
Hours follow the 40-hour week (RA Labour Code, article 139): 8 hours a day on a five-day week; on a six-day week 7 hours Monday to Friday and 5 on Saturday. The working day before a non-working holiday is one hour shorter (article 147).
Example: 01.12.2025 to 11.01.2026 is 42 calendar days — 26 working days and 206 hours on a five-day week, 32 days and 210 hours on a six-day week.
How many working hours are there in 2026?
On a five-day week, 251 working days and 2,001 hours, counting the seven shortened pre-holiday days (article 147). On a six-day week, 301 days and 1,996 hours.
Is the working day shorter before a holiday?
Yes, by one hour (Labour Code, article 147). It does not apply to part-time, reduced-hours or shift workers.
Why is 2027 marked as an estimate?
Holidays are set by law, but the Government decides day transfers separately for each year. Until that decision exists, the calculator counts only the statutory holidays and says so in the result.
