When an accountant needs the CBA rate for a date

The calculator shows the average market rates the Central Bank of Armenia published on any day since 1 January 2000, and converts an amount between the dram and six currencies: the US dollar, the euro, the Russian rouble, the pound sterling, the Chinese yuan and the Georgian lari. The CBA rate is needed wherever an amount in a foreign currency has to go into the books or into a tax calculation in AMD: invoices from foreign suppliers and customers, exports and imports, income from abroad, per diems paid in a foreign currency.

Under the RA Tax Code, amounts in a foreign currency are converted into AMD at the average market rate formed on the currency markets and published by the Central Bank of Armenia (article 16, part 1). Since 1 July 2026 (law HO-234-N), the rate of the day for tax purposes is the average rate the CBA published on the previous working day (article 16, part 2, point 1). In this calculator, pick the day before the operation: it shows the rate published on the previous working day (on a Monday, Friday's). The exception is currency exchange, which takes the rate published that same day (part 2, point 2). Before 1 July 2026, the rate of the day was the one the CBA published by 16:00 that same day.

On weekends and public holidays the CBA publishes no rate. The calculator then shows the last published one and marks its date, as the CBA's own service does.

Which rate does the calculator show?

The average market rate the Central Bank of Armenia published on the chosen date — the same figures as on cba.am. It is not a bank's exchange rate: banks buy and sell currency at rates of their own.

What is shown for a weekend?

The last rate published before that date, usually Friday's. The publication date is marked next to the result.

Which rate applies for taxes from 1 July 2026?

The rate the CBA published on the previous working day (RA Tax Code, article 16, part 2, point 1). In this calculator, pick the day before the operation: it shows the rate published on the previous working day (on a Monday, Friday's). For currency exchange, the one published that same day. Before 1 July 2026, the rate published by 16:00 that same day.

For which dates are rates available?

From 1 January 2000 to today. The CBA does not publish rates for future dates.
